That’s where the humble smoothie shines. Smoothies are a delicious and nutritious way to end your day. And with some careful consideration of which ingredients to use, they could even offer a new way to help you relax and get better prepped for a restful night ahead.

Ingredients: 

  • 1 ripe banana 
  • 120ml Greek yogurt (use the low fat version if you’re counting calories) 
  • 120ml almond milk 
  • 1 tablespoon honey 
  • A pinch of cinnamon 

Directions: 

Blend all of the scrummy ingredients mentioned above until they’re smooth and creamy.

Bananas are rich in both magnesium and potassium. These are two different minerals which can help to relax our muscles and regulate sleep patterns. And by combining bananas with the lovely soothing properties of honey and the subtle warmth of cinnamon, this banana bliss smoothie is a great way to welcome in relaxation time before beddy-byes. 

2. berry dreamland

Ingredients: 

  • 80g mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries) 
  • 15g spinach 
  • 120ml coconut water 
  • 25g rolled oats 
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter 

 
Directions: 

Blend until the ingredients until smooth. Frozen or fresh berries are ideal.

  • 1/2 ripe avocado 
  • 50g cucumber 
  • A handful of spinach 
  • Juice of 1 lime 
  • 120ml coconut water

Blend all of those lovely healthy (and primarily green) ingredients until creamy and smooth.

Ingredients: 

  • 240ml brewed chamomile tea, chilled 
  • 120ml almond milk 
  • 1 tablespoon honey 
  • 1/2 teaspoon culinary lavender buds 
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 

Directions: 

Pop all the ingredients in a blender and blend until frothy.

  • 1/2 ripe banana
